The SODO Park venue is definitely one of Seattle’s most unique open spaces. It’s like a cross between a loft and a barn with Pacific Northwest appeal. A few weeks ago, we attended the open house party hosted by Herban Feast at their rustic urban space, SODO Park. The complimentary event gave us an opportunity to check out the venue space, try the Herban Feast cuisine, meet their partner vendors such as Cake Envy, and refresh in cocktails.
The Herban Feast food is tasty, which is often hard to come by when you have mass-produced wedding food. The menu that night consisted of many goodies such as shrimp and grits, pistachio salad, quinoa, halibut, and bacon wrapped figs. So in all, it was a pretty delicious dinner! The SODO Park by Herban Feast experience was very exquisite and I definitely considered it for my wedding.

The Bon Odori Seattle is another event that I have been attending since I was 15. This is one of Seattle’s most awesome summer cultural activities. You got good food, a beer garden, some dancing, sun, crowds, and kicking with the homies…. I don’t know about you, but sounds like a great time to me.

The Bite of Seattle is the city’s most celebrated food event bringing together all the food diversity Seattle has to offer. I have been attending this annual event since I was 14 so lots of good times here. The 2012 Bite of Seattle was definitely another great time… You can’t beat a summer Seattle day with food, sun, hanging out, and sights!

A few weeks ago I proposed to my inspiration, motivation, the person that keeps me hustling…. basically the most wonderful lady in my life. This is one most happiest days for both of us. I look forward to sharing a bank account and a tax return in 2013. Thanks to all the family, friends, and social network for the kind words.

I love for the nights you don’t remember with the people I can’t forget. We live for these days to run with the crew, get reservations for 20, bottles on ice, and watch Celine Dion. I must say photography and drinking don’t mix therefore the photo taking stopped after the first 4 hours of my trip. HAHAHA. Good times and I’m glad we were able to send my homie Craig the Bachelor out right. YOLO - Yamada Only Live’s Once

“Everything is Purple” My Space Needle and Experience Music Project Photo Shootout (Seattle Center)
You already know the Space Needle is the most iconic architectural piece in Seattle. The structure rooted up in the 60s with a futuristic mid century swag. Long and behold, it remains futuristic with the mid century influence. I don’t care how touristy it gets, I love shooting it and have taken way too many instagrams. I’m lucky its my backyard and get to see it quite often.
I dropped by on the 50th anniversary to do work with the camera. I harmonized my what I saw with a purple theme, cause I repp UW and listening to A$AP Rocky. It was an awesome time. In all, if you represent Seattle, you love the Space Needle!

La Brea (LA’s Street Fashion ave)
La Brea Avenue is LA’s streetest fashion forward spot. Fashionistas, americanas, hipsters, cool hunters, and streetwear enthusiast all gather here to excel their retail game. So we definitely made a point to do some strolling. La Brea greets you with Shepard Fairey, graffiti (paid and non-paid), Unis, Stussy (KAWS art), Undeafeted, American Rag, Animal, and others to hold down the neighborhood aesthetic.

The Griffith Observatory hike is the quintessential LA weekend activity. It was a great time for the YOLO crew to getaway from the hustle to enjoy greenery, sun, the crowd, and observe sites… and take photos. Not a bad trail at 2.5 round trip, so pretty leisure. Awesome time!

You’re are going to Hollywood!
Before I post the food and retail photos, above are some scenic shots of Venice and Hollywood.

Turn up the lights in here baby! Extra bright I want y’all to see this….
My favorite architectural work in my hood, the University of Washington Medicine Complex in South Lake Union. Very inspiring, sharp, sleek, midcentury, and modern.
