the sartorial ladies
A few weeks ago, my friend Lori hosted a pretty hoppin dinner party at Osteria La Spiga in Capitol Hill. I just love dinner parties!!!! You get to dress fly, pour the wine, eat good food, unwind, and partake in good conversation. The restaurant itself is an open industrial rustic space with natural lighting, and easily accomodates large parties.
To warm up we had proscuitto and salami with the wine. Then came the masses of entrees lasagna and bolognese, my preferred pastas at italian joints. Both dishes were good and fresh. Since I was sitting next to bunch of girls was able to eat more of the food. Also the birthday cake was hella good.
Thanks Lori for having a birthday and the invite. It was wonderful time!

Gjelina (Venice)
Just touched down LAX, it’s about 4pm… What hip spot can we go to for some good eats? let’s get on that Venice cool and hit up Gjelina for some outdoor dining. The food is typically new american but since we came off hour, we got the Neapolitan pizza menu. We ordered one lamb sausage and one proscuitto. Pizzas were delicious, fresh ingredients, wood fire feel, and addictive. What a great spot to start drinking with crew.
Salumi
Hands down the best sandwich spot in Seattle… years and years Armandino Batali (Mario’s pops) has been holding it down providing the best italian cured meats around. My sandwiches of choice are the hotter ones (pun intented) - the lamb, porchetta, or meatball. However I do get the cured meats on the side as well…such as the proscuitto, hot sopressata, mole salami, and coppa. Too bad this place is only open M-F, but I incorporate visits on my day offs.

Delancey
Oh Delancey…. your ingredients are fancy huh???
One of my favorite pizza spots in Seattle. Fine, fresh, and fancy ingredients on a neapolitan style finish….hmmm!!! I think we might’ve tried all the pizzas. The space is really nice, rustic, inviting, and a touch of industrial charm. Love going here for group parties because of the family style cuisine, nice space, and the friendly service which in all promotes a good time.
